Thinking
of Remodeling??
(714) 299-7325
Lives change. Families grow and we outgrow our
surroundings, but deciding to change your current house
as opposed to selling and buying a new one is a very big
decision. Unless there are compelling reasons to stay
where you are, you are probably better off relocating as
the burden to a family in a remodel is large. If the
remodel is large enough, or a second story is being
added, the family will need somewhere else to live for at
least four months. Trying to live around any size remodel
is difficult at best, so, if possible, alternate living
arrangements are suggested. Husbands and wives involved
in design decisions rarely ever agree completely, and
when the final product is on paper and not visible (as in
a purchase, where you can walk around through the living
room), this task is even harder. Often times though,
there are compelling reasons to remodel. If you've owned
your house long enough, you may have a substantial amount
of equity built up, and don't wish to sell in a down
market. Perhaps your home is located in a very desirable
area for you...schools, neighbors that are good friends
(if they still are after your remodel!)...whatever. There
are often times very simple modifications that can add
great value to your house, depending on the current
design. In example, we are looking into one project right
now where the property has an area of basement that can
be easily expanded without much structural work at all.
Another we've seen recently has a situation where there
is an area of patio with a roof over it and a concrete
slab that can be easily enclosed. Very inexpensive
solutions to their individual design needs. Give it some
thought, then call us! We'll come out for a free
consultation anywhere in the Southern California area!
